Singing/music

Besides being an interpreter when I grow up, I'd rather be a singer in Japan.  I think I'd be quite popular because I am an American.  My friends say I sing quite well.  I'd write my own song and come up with the idea's for my PVs, the only problem is I need to learn how to write music, I'm planning to in college or maybe sooner if I can.  I sing songs like the songs that "Do as Infinity" "Every Little Thing" "Sugizo" with a splash of some techno like "Two-Mix" "Ayumi Hamasaki", and "MOVE".  So... if you like J-rock/J-pop-ish music look for an American trying to make her way in the music world in a few years ^_~

J-pop

Well... it's kinda obvious, J-pop is Japanese pop music.  I discovered the J-pop scene about 2 years ago and have been a fairly large fan of it since then.  In my opinion the J-pop business is far more competitive than the J-rock scene.  Most J-pop artists are female and they tend to be single singers, not in bands or groups.  J-pop is influenced by the latest in fashion and trends among teens (usually).  J-pop artists are usually the biggest trend setters in the fashion business in Japan.  J-pop tends to be very fast paced and techno-like, making it great dance music!

Anime/manga

Anime is Japanese animation.  The word "Anime" means "cartoon" in Japanese but it has been adopted to replace "Japanese animation" in America.  Same for manga, manga is Japanese comics "Manga" means "comics" in Japanese.  Anime are usually based on a manga that was made before the Anime.  Anime/manga has been my top interest for the past 5 years now.  Slowly but surely over the years Anime/manga has grown in America, at the Anime/manga convention I go to there are more and more people every year.  One big step taken in the American Anime/manga world was when the Anime "Spirited Away" won an academy award for best animated film of 2003.

J-rock

J-rock, also known as Visual Kei is Japanese rock music.  J-rock was introduced to me by my best friend and I've been a huge fan of it for little over a year.  J-rock is usually influenced by late 80's through early 90's American rock.  It is also influenced by the goth and heavy metal scenes.  Besides pop music, in my opinion this is the most popular form of music in Japan, although it's my #1 favorite!  J-rock artists tend to be male, mostly in a band as well.

Graphic designing

For the past 2 years I have been really into making computer graphics.  I have my own website full of graphics for Anime/manga/J-pop/J-rock/video game/and other Japanese stuff.  It's been up and running for almost a year now it's at http://japanesemiyuki.homestead.com The programs I use to make my graphics are Corel Draw 8, Corel Photo-Paint 8, & Adobe Photoshop V.5 Limited Edition, soon I hope to own Fireworks as well.

Art

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  I always draw/paint/sketch/etc and at one point I wanted to become an artist, that is, as a profession, but I realized that it wasn't for me because I can't do it all the time, I don't get enough inspiration.  I love to paint most of all and I love painting beautiful people and objects, that, or dark things.  Painting and drawing is a big hobby of mine that I do all the time.

EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita)

EGL is a form of fashion that started to form just a few years ago in Japan.  It usually consists of: knee-high fluffy black dresses, maid outfits, lace, fishnets, ribbon, dark colors, platform shoes, little hand bags, dark make-up, white face powder, and maid hats.  It is believed that this trend was started by a famous J-rock artist known as Mana (means "lucifer" in Japanese).  This is not a fact however, but he (yes HE) was one of the first EGL clothing wearers in Japan.  Not only did he wear EGL but he is gorgeous as well (I can't tell you how many girls envie his beauty) this allowed him to be highly, publicly viewable to many people in Japan.

K-pop

For almost a half a year now I've been really into Korean pop music.  A friend introduced me to a program on the International Channel, called "Evolution", it's shown on Thursdays.  Evolution plays all the latest in Korean music videos!  I've been watching that and it has been getting me familiar with the K-pop world.  K-pop is pretty close to what American pop music is like, only it's kinda traditional sounding and it has more classical music to it (ex: more violins and piano).

China/Korea

When I first started liking K-pop about 6 months ago I also got into Chinese music.  Latter on, I started doing some small self-study on China and Korea.  I'm begging to really enjoy their cultures and entertainment.  So I'm hoping to take Chinese and Korean when I get to college.  For a career, I would really like to be a bilingualist

Physical Health

Lately I have been concerned with my physical health (I'm not exactly fat, but out of shape).  So I have been exercising with Yoga, Tai Bo, jogging, and soon weight training.  Along with exercise I've been eating well with a eating plan made by this one guy (can't remember the name, I learned it in health class).

Natural Healing

For several years now I have been into healing my body naturally.  I try my best to avoid using medicine, unless it's absolutly necissary.  I also enjoy healing myself throught ways of aromatherapy (the practice of using natural extracted oils).  I also use herbs to heal myself, for example I use Clove flowers to get rid of headaches.

Self improvement

As I said before I am into my physical health and my mental health, I improve myself by setting goals, interpreting dreams, practicing, asking myself questions, using aromatherapy, metateting, and eating right.
